I chose Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» because I felt like I was a part of a family from the minute I stepped in the door. Medical school is extremely challenging so it is important to be in a supportive, family environment like Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» represents.
Who or what has inspired you while at Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»?
Dean Cannon has inspired me to be the best version of myself and to never settle for less than I am capable of.
How has the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» mission inspired you as a medical student?
It has inspired me to serve ALL people without bias. Medicine is a great unifier - all people require medical care regardless of race, background, sexual orientation, or religion. It makes me proud that Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» gives me a medical education that puts emphasis on treating the patient as a person and not as a textbook.
Who or what inspired you to study medicine?
I was sick quite often as an adolescent and I was constantly in and out of the doctor's office. My doctor would always tell me "It will be OK. We will fix you" and for that, he became my hero. I decided I wanted to be a doctor because I wanted to be able to reassure patients that I could "fix them" in their darkest moments.
Why did you choose Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»?
I chose Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» because I felt like I was a part of a family from the minute I stepped in the door. Medical school is extremely challenging so it is important to be in a supportive, family environment like Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» represents. I also chose it because I have a particular interest in global medicine and Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» has programs to facilitate this interest.
